About Us

Meet Shantha

 

Licensed and trained early childhood education specialist in addition to my graduate training in Molecular biology. My passion is fueled by running a Montessori style school enhanced by Reggio Emilia's emergent curriculum and my own customization that I have found very effective in addressing individual differences in children over the past 10 years of experience in this field.

My teaching pedagogy and techniques have evolved and refined over past 14 years. Over the years my quest has been to design a unique method to teach complex concepts in a fun and interactive process. I have noticed how fun and interactive curriculum creates interest in kids which in-turn boosts self confidence among the kids while increasing their sphere of knowledge. It also instills self-learning skills and quest for exploration. I provide a stimulating environment where each kid likes to explore and learn new ideas through multiple ways feel, touch, read, listen, create or experiment with materials. They also get ample fun filled practice to master their skills. The kids who were exposed to the multi-sensory learning well beyond kindergarten ages are better equipped to handle the increase academic load in higher classes and are very successful at school.

Anupa Lahiri

I have pursued my Masters in Indian literature and political science. I was a teacher for several years and then worked in telecom industry for a few years. I started working as preschool teacher at Orion since 2011. One of my favorite things is to do is to watch kids learn and grow. I am delighted when my students learn new things. I have two wonderful grand kids. Nurturing and teaching comes naturally to me. During my leisure time I like to cook, garden and travel. I have traveled to several countries Canada, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia China. I have also visited several states of India and US. I believe in spirituality. I have several certifications to my credit. I have first aid, CPR, BBP. I also have food handler’s permit and requisite childcare training.

Meet Jayaletchmie

I love kids. I have 3 kids of my own. Children give me immense joy. I spent my life raising my kids for several years. Recently I got an opportunity to work with Orion Montessori. I love the small class size and the wonderful atmosphere that Orion Montessori provides to the students. I enjoy various educational materials that Orion Montessori facility has and use them to do various activities with children. Young minds need nutritional meals and enjoy cooking for Orion Montessori students. I have first aid, CPR and blood borne pathogens. I also have food permit. I have volunteered many schools and love teaching kids.
